Othello was my heart and soul & pride and joy. He was the type of dog and friend you get to have once in a lifetime, if you are lucky enough. He never met a stranger and never had a bad day. I still miss him on a daily basis years after his passing. 

While he absolutely loved trailing in multiple venues and was extremely successful in all areas of competition and training, his one true joy in life was pleasing me. He would move mountains to make me happy.

Othello and I were inseparable. He came with me daily my senior year of high school, throughout college, and to work.

More important and memorable than any competition win was Othello's service as a therapy dog. He frequently visited the elderly at many nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Looking back, it's quite ironic to me, as he was not an overly friendly dog and really only wanted attention from me. It's as if he intuitively knew what these people needed and was willing to share part of himself for them.  He was an incredible soul and I feel lucky to have been the person on the other end of his leash.
