Definition of marvel: something that causes wonder, admiration, or astonishment; a wonderful thing.

Marvel was the most appropriately named dog I will ever own. He came into my life and instantly made everything better. Marvel was born an obedience dog. He was the most focused, mature, dedicated and eager puppy I have ever had. At 10 weeks old he was doing the full retrieve on flat exercise, with sits and finish. 

He started his performance career the day he turned 8 months old at the July Cluster in Springfield, completing his RN in 3 consecutive trials and winning the class one day with a perfect score! Never have I owed a dog with such potential. 

Unfortunately like a true marvel, he couldn't stay for long. He taught me what I needed to learn and was gone. While losing Othello at a young age certainly made an impression on me, Marvel's illness and passing has left me forever changed and has truly altered the way I look at competitions. Q or NQ, every run is precious and really could be your last. Dog training is about the relationship between owner and dog, not just about how many titles you can accumulate. I so wish things could have been different for my boy, but we made the most of our time together and I have no regrets. I miss him dearly but know he is in a better place.
